Spazio Nostro / Mare Nostrum

Spazio Nostro (Our Space in English) wants to be a free space. A soft organic platform, which you enter barefoot, defenseless.
Fifty square meters of unpredictable interaction.You lie down, walk, play interacting with the mobile mass under the sea-blue fabric. The symbolic value goes beyond the local community. The circular assembly space embraces the idea of ​​a shared culture among Mediterranean’s people, all inevitably overlooking the same blue expanse. A declaration of playfulness and discovery of the other turned to social cohesion under the same human values.

The installation involves four “construction levels”, from the bottom:

• straw and/or hay bales/ballets, depending on local availability. They are stacked and arranged to form the platform. Some are disgregated to give homogeneity and softness to the substrate.
• protective layer in white agricultural non-woven fabric. Eliminates the possible inconvenience of being stung by straw stalks and ensures that the latter does not move from its intended location.
• blue fabric. It offers a homogeneous finish that can be walked on with an impact, as it differs from the colors of the surrounding landscape.
• luminous ring. This lighting element completes the installation as it extends the vertical dimension, as well as offering a clear contribution of light to the installation during the evening hours.
